Default Has anyone found a fix for the outside

temperature sensor? It seems that the temp sensor is quick to detect cooler outside temps, but is is VERY slow to recover as the temperature begins to warm. My garage typically stays around 60F degrees during the winter. We had a recent cold snap and temperatures plummeted to below freezing. During the course of the day, temps recovered to over 70F degrees! However, my outside temperature gauge recovered only a few degrees since the morning. Is there a fix for this?

Maybe it only works if air is passing over the sensor as opposed to just letting it sit there. Also, it was probably cooler in your garage than outside in the sun.

Mine seems to work fine regardless if the vehicle is moving or not. The gauge seems to change as rapidly as the air temp changes. I would be willing to bet it is a faulty sensor. Take it in to the dealer and have them take a look at it.

Apparently Nissan engineered a delay in its temp adjustment so that the sensor would not be sensitive to heat soak in heavy traffic. This is what I've been told.

I noticed you live in Lubbock…me too. I just purchased mine a few weeks ago…04 Enthusiast 6sp Silverstone. I would like to ask you some questions about your experience with the manual transmission.

GO TECH!!

If I pull out of my garage into colder air the temp guage changes about a degree every 30 seconds.

my complaint is that the sensor almost seems to be too sensitive. the indicator on the dash is set to where everytime the degree drops if it is deemed cold enough for ice, below 37F, the display stays on the temp even when i have been driving already. i then have to reach up to switch the display back to the mph. not too hateful, but something i wish i could do without. if there is something i can do please let me know but i am guessing probably not.
