Default Code P0335 is popping up. How to fix it?

OK, One day I let my buddy drive my car (my first mistake) and he stalled the car while trying to get out of the parking lot. Once he turned it back on the RPM needle was jumping up and down and my SES light went on. When I popped up the code it said
P0335 - Crankshaft position sensor CIRCUIT
I installed a crankshaft sensor off of rockauto just to b sure its not the sensor and no, the light was still on. My mechanic checked the wires going from the sensor to the computer and they were all fine.
I dont know what else to check or do to fix this. I read some threads but they werent much help.
Oh and I got a 2007 Z, manual with 58,XXXmiles
Thanks guys and please help

After replacing the sensor, did you reset the ECU to clear the light/code? If not, the light will still be on.

Did you check the signal plate that signals the Crank sensor?
