2003 350Z, Window Motor replacement

2003 350Z, Window Motor replacement
Hi
I have been the proud owner of my '03 350Z since June of last year. Recently the driver's side window motor has died which I have learned is a common problem here. My mechanic is telling me now that I need a new Nissan window motor part ($525
cost )for this early 2003 production model as it was manufactured in September of 2002 according to the sticker on the door. I would have much prefered to have just ordered one of the many $200 replacement dollar parts that list on Ebay for 2003 to 2006 350zs. But my mechanic is trying to tell me that they will not work in my door because of different wiring to the motor(2 wires vs 3). I would love some help from the community on this one. I do trust my mechanic but it seems rather odd that early '03 350z models require different parts. Can I expect more headaches with unique/ expensive parts for my car?
