Default P2A03 SES Code - Cracked Cat

Hey everybody, new Z owner here. I bought my 2006 Z with the SES light on, thinking that it was the o2 sensor. Although I haven't replaced the o2 sensor yet, I did hear an exhaust leak. When we got under the car I had a pretty good crack in my left cat. We figured that's what was setting of the code. I took it to a local muffler shop and he welded it shut for me and reset the code. A few hours later I had a sealed exhaust (sounded much better ) but the SES light came back on.

I took it to Auto Zone yesterday and they scanned the code P2A03 which can be a number of things according to them. If it was an o2 sensor, it would be Bank 2 Sensor 1. The guy at Auto Zone said that it shouldn't be throwing that code for an o2 sensor, so I should check out the other possibilities first. I'm going to check for an intake leak today by spraying clutch/brake cleaner on it and seeing if idling changes (I'm not very handy, so I need to keep it basic).

Has anyone had this issue? Should I go ahead and replace the o2 sensor?

Thanks

RESOLVED: Just updating with the the resolution to my issue. It turned out that one of my injectors was clogged, after pouring some techron in my gas tank the engine code was gone the next day. I'm sure sealing the cats contributed to the engine light turning off also.

if the cat was cracked its internals overall might be shot. you wont know whether its the cat or the O2 sensor without looking at a live graph of whats goign on. With 92k on the clock either can be bad but my first guess would be the cat. Sounds like an excuse to get tp's and uprev

How do I get a look at the live graph?

With a scan tool or uprev. A compitent mechanic would be able to let you know. Would probably cost an hour labor. Or find a local Z member with a cipher cable. Or get uprev and look yourself.

Ok great. I just did a fuel injector test (put a stethoscope to my fuel injectors) and it seems as if the 1st injector on the drivers side is out. Could that be causing the CEL? I'm not very handy, so I could be wrong. Should I run some cleaner through it?

Put some cleaner in it last night. Hopefully when I take it to the mechanic it's an o2 sensor rather than a cat. Any other ways to find out before I take it to someone?
