So today I started to get a random knock while driving. I don't think it is a rod knock but I am not sure what it is and was hoping somebody might be able to help.
I am running a vortech with an ATS twin disc clutch. I have checked my fluids and they are not low. I am going to drain my oil tomorrow.
While the car is in Neutral or the clutch is disengaged the knock goes away.
When idling there is no knock at all.
The car has no trouble idling and maintains a strong idle at around 750rpm as usual.
When I am driving at low throttle is when I seem to get the knock most. When I increase my throttle it seems to go away.
When I press the pedal to disengage the clutch it feels different now.
Also the clutch seems to not entirely disengage when the pedal is pressed anymore because when revving to check the engine the car seems to move a little which it didn't before.
Is it possible my clutch is knocking? or if there is an issue with my trans mount it could have affected my clutch like this?
My assumption is that if it was a rod knock, detonation issue or exhaust problem it would also show up when in neutral. I am not showing any knock count on my Utec either which I would assume rules out rod knock and detonation right away.
any ideas? any more ways I can test this?
