Default Whomp noise coming from rear

I was "sliding" my car around a roundabout and one of my wheels hit the curb.
After changing the chopped up tires that were on I noticed that at speeds around 50+ I get a roaring noise mixed along with some noise that sounds like a washing machine "whomp whomp"
This roaring is in the rear itself however, the washer noise seems to be coming from the rear left.

I'm thinking it's just the bearing any ideas?

Jack up the rear, grab the tire ( hands on top and bottom) and wiggggleee, if there is play or you hear noise, its the bearing ( also do this with your hands on the sides of the tire)

But like 99.999% of posters say..Bearings busted
