Transmission Conditioner?
I am due for new tranny/diff fluid and have been doing my research. I currently live in a high rise condo and don't have acess to my own garage anymore so I went ahead and called a stearlship and to get a quote on this work. I was quoted at $239 for a transsmission service and 99$ for a differential service. I asked him to elaborate on the "service" he said it is tranny flush, new fluid, and a they add a conditioner. Man on the phone said the conditoner is used to help lubrication? Has anyone ever heard of this? Is this a fair price?
After researching here I was plannng on using Amsoil 75W-85 GL-4 for the tranny and 80W-90 GL-5 for the diff if I could get access to jack/stands, never heard of this conditioner before though...bunch of BS??? or is it lagit..
One more newb question, is a flush just draining the old fluid or is it something more?
Thanks,
