Default Broken coil pack bolt-rocker cover question

I installed new plugs and found that the previous owner had snapped off the bolt on the drivers side coil pack that is closest to the firewall and never fixed it. There was a bit of bolt out of the hole but I couldn't get it to budge with vice grips.

I started to drill it for an ezee-out but before I got in too deep I started looking for a rocker cover schematic or picture to make sure there is no chance I am going to drill through the cover and open a hole into the head. I haven't found anything in the FSM, Courtesy Parts or the forum that shows enough detail though.

Can someone who has had the cover off post a picture or let me know the dimensions related to this area? If I drill through the bolt how much space do I have before I run into the bottom of the cover and how thick is the material there?

Thanks!

Measure one of the other coilpack bolt-holes? Not much depth in any case, pull the valve cover to be safe, might be able to get it out without drilling that way too.

Just wanted to follow this up for anyone else that searches for the same issue.

The answers are:
-pulling the valve cover is the smart way to do it if you can't get the bolt out with an ezee-out
-there is very little space between the bottom of the threads and the rocker cover
-the rocker cover material is not very thick

What did you end up having to do to fix the problem , I just broke off one of the screws and tried everything to back it off and it wont budge , screw just fell apart and pieces still stuck inside

I replaced the valve cover after I couldn't get the bolt out. There is really no other way to fix it properly. Either you get the bolt out or you replace the valve cover.
