BCM Swap or Dual BCM
Hey guys I bought a replacement BCM because the circuit in mine is fried which disables the driver side power lock functionality.
I've been reading that the key needs to be reprogrammed once the BCM is swapped but what If I just plug the lock/unlock wires into the new BCM and leave everything else in the old BCM.
Would that work? Or can I splice the power wire of the old BCM and connect the new BCM to that power wire?
Basically my current BCM is fine except for the driver side power lock functionality so i figure i can just get that functionality to work through the replacement BCM, which would mean that I wouldn't need to use the whole BCM and I'm hoping the anti-car-start security feature won't come into play since it's not the whole new BCM that's being used.
What do you guys think?
