Default blown ecm fuse

ok so the other day im starting out from a stoplight. first gear and the car just dies. turns over but does not even try to start. after investigation i found the ecm fuse was blown. replaced fuse starts right up. its done it several times since then. first gear under acceleration. stock ecm. ive done a grounding kit on it and that looks fine. i hate to start throwing parts at it. i have a feeling its a bad ecm, but m not totally convinced yet. is their anything i can check on that? i pulled the codes and it came up clean. thanks in advance!!

Well I'm having the same issue with my dome light fuse. I ran everything myself so I'm sure I fcuked something up. I believe something is incorrectly grounded. Best bet is to remove everything, and start over.

Hope that helps...

Under hard accel something in the ECM circuit gets a short and pulls enough amps to fry the fuse, double check the grounding kit first. Or just take it off as they are useless.

ya i built the grounding kit myself....it was cheap. i didnt really notice a difference, if i just disconnect from the neg on the battery will that work just for troubleshooting purposes or do i need to remove the whole thing? its been on there a few yrs and this is the first issue ive had. i also dissconected my amp but no luck i guess besides that i could try my stereo...thanks

With engine idling wiggle the ground points and the rest of the harness to see if you can replicate the problem.

The ground for that fuse looks to be the one near the airbox, check there first.

Bad ECMs are rare, and there will usually be a ton of codes that don't make sense. I just assumed, but do you have any codes stored?

Let's do this right,
Year-2004
Make-350Z
Model/Trim-Track
Trans
Mods-Grounding Kit
Mileage
ALL recent work done
Main Complaint- Blows ECM Fuse under 1st gear acceleration (?% Throttle, actual speed?)
Any other issues, things that don't work?-Passenger Dome Light Non-Op
Codes (present or pending)

You need the wiring diagram, make an account at autozone.com and see if they have it in their repair files. Otherwise I'll post it tomorrow when I'm at work. Go read the electrical diagnostic basics here:
