Default 350z engine

Pulled a vq35de rev up engine from a Z that was damaged. Seems like there is some plastic on the driver side of the engine that cracked and what looks like coolant leaked out.

Is this replaceable? It isn't visible in this picture but that is the location where it is.

I don't have the actual pic but the plastic is black color. I hope to take an actual pic as to better describe the part.

Thanks for your help.

First of all this thread is in the wrong place, you put it in the 370z section.

Second of all that black plastic thing is called the valve cover/rocker cover. There should not be any coolant coming out unless one of the hose around it is damaged.

Sorry for posting in wrong forum.

Is this fixable?

And a $$$ figure estimate would be great.

That metal pipe is a coolant pipe and the black plastic is the rocker cover.

Try courtesyparts for the replacement of those two. It will be quite the amount of money because you will need to replace the other hand side and the gasket.

Also do you know if the engine still runs? Because it looks like its damage to the block too...

No clue if it runs. Side damage, couldn't reach the clutch to try and start it.

Now its pulled, any way to find out if it would still crank?

looks like the motor is toast. The O2 sensor is snapped off and the valve cover bolt direct above it is pointing a diff direction than the others. Only way to really tell is to take the motor apart to assess if there is any internal damage.

I started taking the cover apart and I really can't tell if the inside is damaged. I am going to try and take pictures of what it looks but I am going to part this engine out.

Sounds like it has internal damage. Hopefully you got it for a good price..
