Default Driver Side Footwell raised up!!

Hey guys,

I had a guy install some things and do some work under my car. However, he used a jack and he lifted it from the plastic/grey/foam like thing under the car. He positioned it under the driver side footwell, so now, when I drive or sit in the seat, my left leg is raised up because the plastic under it is lifted up from the jack. I tried pushing it down and stomping on it with my foot, doesnt seem to work. The guy said come tomorrow and he'' fix it, said not to worry. Is this an easy fix?? Thanks

Steve

It can be fixed properly by removing the carpet, drilling and using a slide hammer. Anyone dumb enough to put a jack under the passenger floor will probably do a half-*** fix.

I would refrain from using this mechanic ever again. Anyone who doesn't know where to properly place a jack under a car... shouldn't be working on them.

I'd call my insurance, take it to a body shop to have it fixed properly (it may need a new floor well) and send the bill to the guy who messed up your car. This is a body shop project, not a project for some noob mechanic who doesn't even know what a jack point is.

EDIT:

Oh crap, you're in Korea, huh? If this was some off-base shop, then good luck getting anything done. I grew up on Yongsan and every time our 1979 Chevy Malibu station wagon took a whack in the rear by a Kimchi Cab down in Itaewon, WE got stuck with the bill.

Jcat, do you just go at it with a big a$$ hammer repeatedly and it just goes back down? Any tips or is it just straightforward pounding? Thanks
