Like others have mentioned... it definitely seems like it's locked, especially because you're saying it's turn all the way to one side. Turning the wheel hard in one direction (not sure which direction) and holding it there, should allow you to turn the key. This exact thing just happened to me 2 days ago.

 

If you’re still having this problem. I just fixed it in 10 minutes with the help of this video.


Note: Make sure you wiggle it with the key in it and attempt to twist it at the same time.

 

Ok thought this mught help someone out there who has the same problem mine did . Like this post my steering locked along with my steering , tried for hours to giggle, shake ,yank , even had other people try it would not unlock. So i trailered car home and next day took it to the dealership. Next day get a call that ignition cylinder broke dont know how but it did . Now heres where it get tricky nissian no longer makes ignition cylinders for 03 made up to the 7th month ( nissian change the ignition design mid year one made after 7 months in 03 have a 6 terminal switch and one before 7th month have a 5) and these are not compatible nor can u switch them over. So over the next 3 weeks i tried autozone out of stock then advanced out of stock then orileys found one but when it came in it didnt have keys so had to return it cause to have 2 keys cut and programed would have been another 150 . Then i found one on ebay and they cancled my order without notifying me because it was out of stock . Even looked into going full race car and deleting ignition lock and going with a switch pannel start. Theres plenty of used ones however used i felt had a higher risk of repeating the same problem sooner but ive also called around and it dosent seem to be a common problem so used might be a better way to go .Luckily I finally found one on rock auto but even they where low on inventory. Took part back up to dealership took them 3 hours and was able to drive it back home. So if u have a 03 z and steering and ignition are lock good luck this part is hard to find unless u buy it used . Hope this helps someone
