Default rear axle clicking question

hey guys I got a quick question regarding on the TSB for the clicking noise coming from my rear axle. Ive been reading a few threads about the instructions and some say to put lubrication on the spline part of the axle. But when I saw the picture on the TSB theres only lube on the base part (not on the spline).

Can someone clarify exactly where I am suppose to put the lube on and also is it ok if I use brake lube instead. I see some people have used brake lube instead of the m77.

It won't hurt anything if you put some on the spline, may actually help ease re-installation.
