Need answers...car acting rly wierd
I have been having problems with my car for a few months and I am wondering if someone can give me an answer or things to try. My car was running fine until I noticed the belt was beat up and I needed a new one. I changed the belt and the car would make a sqeaking noise and the voltage would start off at 12 like normal...but the sqeaking noise would go away when the voltage was up to 13.8-14. So the car ran fine for some months and it only bothered me a little until i decided to try and fix it. I thought the sqeak was the alternator bearing so i replaced the alternator. The car continued to sqeak the same way for awhile until recently...the voltage will stay at 12 the whole time and the sqeak was non existant. Currently the voltage will stay at 12 or a bit below and the car will make the sqeaking noise. To check if it was the alternator I removed the battery leads and the voltage went up to 13.8-14 and ran fine. I also just bought a brand new yellow top optima battery and it still does the same thing. what can this problem/s be?

Sounds like a belt tension issue after you replaced the belt, and now your new alternator may not be working correctly. Get the tension right, and then troubleshoot the charging issue if you're still having a problem.

Agreed. If the tension isnt right, it can squeak, and it also may not apply the right power to the alternator, causing the voltage to be lower and the battery to die because it isnt getting charged.
You bought a battery to fix a squeaking sound?? Sometimes if the weather is crappy, rainy or high humidity, belts can squeak a tiny bit. But check your belt tension. You're supercharged, did you check the belt and pulleys for that?

I use an old radiator hose. Hold one end to your ear and move the other end around the engine bay with the car running. It helps to isolate sounds so you can really hear where the noise is coming from.
It sounds stupid; but it's a quick, cheap, and easy way to find problem areas.
Likely a loose belt though.
