Thumbs down Driver Door Issues

Recently my driver door sensor stopped recognizing that my door is closed and will not automatically roll up my window to seal it. Anyone else have to deal with this issue ever? Its showing that my door is ajar even when it is closed and the window can't seal without the sensor working properly.

Not a sensor, just a door switch mounted on the body at the back of the door.

Yea, it's just a little button. It's covered with some black rubber. It probably got stuck, you can feel if it is just by pushing on the button with your fingers.

Doesn't seem to be stuck or it isn't stuck? You should be able to tell very easily.

If you manually push the button and the door-ajar light goes out, then it works. If it stays on, then it doesn't.

Unscrew the door switch, unplug the two wires, turn on your key, touch both wires together and see if the light goes out. If it does then you have a bad door switch, if not then something else is wrong.

In my '04 it's just one wire and it gets ground out to the screw holding it in place. You can switch out the driver and passenger side and if the problem moves it's the switch. Otherwise you got a short to ground somewhere.

Wire grounded = Door Open

Button - fine. Switch - bad. I guess it's semantics.....
Replace the switch/button whatever you want to call it.
