Default Fixing scrape on rear bumper

Hi everybody, my stupid garage door scraped my rear bumper.

I don't know what to do about this scratch, its a little bit deep ( the top is least deep, and progressively gets deeper as you go down the bumper), but idk if I should use spot putty or not. I have touch up paint (brush cap), and will buy a spray can if I have to. I have sandpaper 400 - 2500 grit.

The very last picture is a closeup of my fail attempt of fixing part of it. I sanded it 400 to 2500, and then rubbing compound, then basecoat and then clear. It wasn't smooth (I think due to the brush strokes) so i sanded it again 400 - 2500 grit + rubbing compound.

Do you guys suggest i put on that spot putty? Use a bigger brush? Spray the paint on? Any tips at all will be greatly appreciated (except taking it to the body shop :|). Thanks everyone!

You don't have the expertise to fix it right.Even if you were able to fix the
scrape, any touch up will look terrible. The whole bumper needs to be resprayed to match the car.
Have you got a quote on getting it fixed from someone that knows what they are doing?

I would also suggest getting it fixed by a professional. That scratch is pretty deep.

It's plastic. So u put body filler in the scrape and paint. 2 months later some jerk taps your bumper and the filler falls out. You're left with what? Buta new bumper for $300 and you're done!

I mean I could be wrong but it doesn't look like the scratch is THAT deep. It made its way down to the bumper, but it doesn't look like it really gouged the plastic out. Just looks like it went through the paint to the plastic. I'm thinking that with a bit of light sanding it would be smoothed out. I'm no autobody expert though.
