Default misfire?skipping?help.

I have an 04 Z. I need some help identifing whats wrong with it. My car has 180k miles on it. My car skips or "pops" at idle. And in 6th gear going about 45 mph if you floor it it skips. But then regains power. Does it in wot in 3rd sometimes too. I changed the spark plugs 10,000 miles ago. But that didnt fix the problem. So i assume it to be the coil packs. But wouldnt it throw a code if it was misfiring?? Please help.

Should be some sort of code. Bad misfires cause a blinking cel. A diagnostic will be able to tell what's wrong. Maybe there's a vaccuum leak and the fuel trims would show that. Cat could easily be clogged at that mileage.

So if no code, should I try(i know this might be stupid) some seafoam to maybe clean out the injectors or get some test pipes?

Mine seems to pop as well at idle. I never had a code either pending or showing.

My 2004 has about 45K on it

You should get a proper diagnostics instead of throwing parts at it.

Sure, dump some Seafoam in the tank.
What would adding test pipes do?
May have moisture in your tank.Seafoam may
clear this up.If not,Stabil is great for getting out moisture.

I dont.think having an.exhaust leak could cause skipping and struggling up a hill in 6th gear.

Compression test would tell you what you need to know. You have high miles and I would be curious what these numbers are.

You're going 45mph in sixth gear and flooring it? What RPM are you at, like 1500? You might have a problem but you should downshift at that speed if your going to floor it.
