Default Having Noise Problems

Hey guys I知 new to this forum. I知 having problems with noise coming from the back of my Z especially when I past railroad track or any bumps on the road. I have changed the rear struts cause I thought it could have fixed the problem but nothing, I put Tokiko blues. I have taken it to different shops and they don稚 find any problems. I haven稚 taken it to Nissan cause of course they charge an arm and a leg, but if don稚 find the problem soon I will go crazy and will have to take it to them. Also I知 getting another noise coming from the air vent (I think?) when I go faster than 60, it just started. My 350z is a 07 Touring with only 48k miles first big issues with it. If anyone has any answers I would appreciate it.

what exactly does the noise sound like? Your best bet is to raise the car up and try to see if you can find the source of the noise..

By "rear struts", I assume you mean rear shock absorbers. Most replacement shocks come without all the rubber bushings that are installed at the top. Take the shock off, take the bushings off, put some good grease on all the contact surfaces, and put them back together. Put a little grease on the mounting surface on the body in the top of the fender well.

Be sure to have the car sitting on the ground before you tighten the lower mounting bolt. If you tighten it with the suspension hanging down, you will probably tear the bushing in the lower suspension arm. That may have happened during your previous work, and might be the source of the noise.

The noise sound like something is loose somewhere in the hatch but not sure if it is coming from there. I've taken a lot of the plastic of the hatch off, taken spare tire off but don't know what it could be.

Try what I suggested. The upper shock mounts are very close to the rear cross-brace, so any noise generated in the shock will radiate from the brace.

For sure its hard for us to understand what your "noise" actually sounds
like. From your info, its coming from the rear. The noise was there with the OEM
shocks. The new shocks did not help, right?By taking a bunch of stuff out of the
trunk area is not gonna help you.In fact,I'd think whatever the " noise"
is its gonna be amplified due to the spare being gone.First of all,you need
to determine if the noise is something that is causing a operational
problem to the running of the car.Or,is it just an annoying sound. It appears
as though noises to you are irritating. To others, its not a big deal.I'd double check
your shock installation.I'd also check all the bushings in the rear of the car.
Suggest you consider sound proofing the trunk area, especially around the spare
and sides of that compartment.Much of the road noise and noise comes from the rear. The way the Z is designed, put the rear wheel wells in the cabin. Also, put a layer of sound proofing on the lid
panel over the spare. As far as the air vent noise, could be something stuck in there.
Which air vent?
