Several options:
Painting over the damage won't hide the gouge in the material.
You could order a new part.Or,if you have the bucks and are
particular about your interior, buy CF caps that cover both sides.
I have these on my Z.They look great.But,cost $200.
The Z Store sells e'm.Most times they are special order.

OP, find out waht the NAME of the part is by using courtesy nissans parts catalog online.. then search for that name.. sometimes its stuff like" rear speaker finisher" or something kind of like that etc.
Slidegood does part outs as well.. bt find the parts real name then serach ebay for that.

Two things will sort of work:
1) Get a black Sharpee, mark it a little bit at a time and smear the ink around with your thumb. It'll look about 50% better when you're done with it.
2) Get a vinyl repair kit with vinyl swatches and a special pen-iron. Put the swatch with the pattern that best replicates the grain on the plastic and use the pen-iron to rub in the shape. Some thermal grease along the gouge will help transfer the pattern. Wait until the swatch is cool before pulling it off the scratch, then use some Meguiar's original finish interior spray to wipe it out. You might still need to use a sharpee.
Generally, I get good results using these methods. All that being said, the best solution (obviously) is just to replace the part or glue some thin color-matching vinyl to the entire panel (you can get it from a fabric store).
