window problems
Greetings,
2003 350Z.
My passenger window behaving as follows.
When I use one-touch up, on both the driver side door AND the passenger door, to tell it to roll the passenger window up all the
way, the passenger window will go all the way up, and then comes down half way, leaving the window halfway up or down (depending
if you're a glass is half full or empty type of guy).
I can roll the passenger window up, by not engaging the one-touch up, and simply holding the switch up with my finger, on both the
driver door and passenger door.
But I don't want to do that forever.
So I took it to Nissan Dealership and they told me that I need a new motor. I told the technician manager that I the motor seems
fine to me, since it is able to bring the window up and down, but that it seems more logical to me that whatever instructs the
motor needs to be replaced. He disagreed and told me I need a new motor.
So then I took it to a Japanese shop and they wanted two hours of labor at $110 per hour plus the cost of the parts.
Am I getting jerked around here?
All I want, is that when I engage the one-touch up on the driver door or the passenger door, that the passenger window go all the
way up and stay, not come half way down after going all the way up.
Any advice is much appreciated. I don't want to spend $300+ to fix a window.
Okay, I just found the thread titled How-To Repair Stuck / Broken Window Motor ...
But wow, that's A LOT of steps and details.
Is there anyone out there in San Diego that's already done that?

PS) Yes, I have that damn grease spot from hell that appears on my passenger window that doesn't ever seem to go away and yes it bugs the hell out of me!

glad you were able to find the issue on this website and with that should get you brownie points later on. To many people come on here with the same problem that has been dealt with many times before. You gotta remember the Z is almost 10 years old, if you have that problem I guarantee you somebody else has had it to and been discussed. Best of luck tho with the Z
