Default acceleration problem

Hi all,

when I normally drive my Z, the RPM stays around 3k, the problem is when I press the acceleration pad deeply-I want the boost! the RPM & speed doesn't usually go up(should be to 4-5k) quickly until 1-2 sec later. mine is a 2003 AT, i realize it could loose some power after 10 years driving. But is this the traditional sympton?

You're loosing power. Describe this whole "it stays around 3k" phenomenon. Are you altering the throttle at all? That might be the culprit.

Also its a drive by wire throttle so it might be a lag

Wow. 3K rpms equals 90mph in D on my '08 with 5AT. Your's must be stuck in some lower gear.

I'm not familiar with the earlier 350Zs, but on mine it drops into 4th when you move the lever to the "manual" position. That would probably bring the speed down to around 70mph at 3K.
