Hey guys,

So i finally figured out why my car was backfiring etc.. we hooked upa data longer found it was runnig lean, then checked fuel pressure it was low..




Pull the pump off to find this rubber grommet as a possible culprit!!!

Problem is I cant find it anywhere and it would have to come off and old fuel pump assembly housing

That is exactly how mine looked when i pulled it out. It was causing me to lose fuel pressure upon boost and it would dog out. Plus I had super long crank starts cuz the fuel would run back into the tank, so it had to prime the lines before starting.

I got one for $4 from boulder nissan here in colorado. They had to order it but it only took like 3 days. Go ask your local nissan parts store. Ask for a technician if you can. He will know better than the front desk lady in most cases.

This isnt and uncommon problem from what ive heard.

 

Does anybody knows part # of this rubber grommet?

 

I had the exact problem where the rubber grommet was completely falling apart. The Infiniti dealer actually has this part. They call it "Packing-Fuel Pump". Part# 17044-4M405
