Hi guys and gals having a small problem with my 2003 Z. The problem started as anytime you would use the door key hole manually or if you did the hold keyfob to roll windows up/down the door would not open. You would have to beat on the exterior door handle while unlocking to get it to "pop". I installed a new door lock actuator (piece that has the latch and two cables behind the door panel, and now the problem changed some. If you lock the door and pull on the exterior handle before unlocking it will act like it did before the swap. As long as you don't pull the handle before unlocking it works fine.

Any ideas what this could be? Kinda annoying problem.

My 2003 does the same thing you describe. A buddy’s 2003 behaved the same way. If you pull the handle while the door is locked, it won’t unlock.

When it happens, I simply press the lock button on the FOB and then press the unlock button. I usually lock my car so I rarely cause the problem (pulling the handle while it’s locked).

Yeah I am now concious of my actions due to this, my main concern was some douchebag grabbing the door handle while in a parking lot or something. It almost seems like some kind of anti-theft deal?
