SV350z

Hi there everyone,

I have searched the forums and found some threads on this but nothing that explains the exact code.

I throw my Z into aibrag diagnostic mode and the code blinks 1 time then 6 = 16. I can not find what that means. It seems according to some non-credited information, to be the crash zone sensor. The car has not been wrecked so the senor may be bad.

Unfortunately I am in a Central American country with my Z and there is no accredited Nissan dealer nor readily available parts. For the mean time, I planned to reset the light as it is quite distracting when driving.

I follow the reset procedure I found online (turn ignition on, wait 6 seconds, turn off, wait 1 and turn back on - repeat x3). This does not work it just puts it back into diagnostic mode and throws me the code again.

Does anybody know what code 16 actually means and how I can reset it on an 04 Z?

According to the FSM, one long flash followed by 6 short flashes indicates a malfunction in the crash zone sensor circuit.

I'd suggest downloading a copy of the Factory Service Manual and check out the "SRS" section. Look at the top of this forum for a sticky thread regarding the FSM.
