Default need new engine advice

so i ruined the motor in my 2006 350z manual transmission with ony 64k miles... anyway, i need to know which engines are compatible with my car. i know i need a 25th anniversary or 2006 350z engine but does it have to be off a manual or can it be one off of an automatic? also which g35 engines will fit my car? it would be nice to fit an hr in there but i dont really want to modify anything to make it fit. also what price range should i pay for one around the same mileage as my old one? and what should i look out for?

If you truly have a 2006 manual engine, it's called a "Revup" engine...it was only offered in the 2005 anniversary model and 2006 year for the 350z; it was also found in the G35 for the 2006 year, I believe...and it only comes from manual transmission cars.

It looks significantly different from the standard DE engine (front engine cover), and unfortunately for you is not as common as the standard DE engine either, since it was only offered for a very limited time; I would know since I have a Revup myself...

Good luck finding one; if you are having trouble consider getting a shortblock/longblock from one of the dealers on the forum...or if you know a good VQ mechanic you can get it rebuilt cheaper than the dealer, but I don't know if you'll find any VQ specialists in Modesto...

I have an 06 and a RevUp motor with 47K miles. I've only had it a few weeks and I'm watching for the dreaded oil consumption problem. What happened with your motor?

yea i was lucky that mine didnt have the oil consumption issue and thats what im scared of if i buy a used one that it will have that problem. i was installing my finally purchased mrev2 and i think while i was putting everything back together, something fell into an intake port and bent some valves or possibly cracked the piston crown. im gonna pull the engine out soon and see what all happened but most likely i need a new motor lol/ it sucks. i had my car for about 5 months. i babied that thing.
