Default Extended Service Contracts

I have a 2006 350Z Loaded Roadster. The Nissan Extended Warranty will expire this May. The vehicle has only 25,000 miles on it as it is stored from mid May to Mid October in Dallas Texas where the garage temperatures will reach over 100 degrees.

I have an opportunity to purchase an extended service contract through a company promoted by COSTCO. I have examined the coverage and exclusions. They appear to cover most items that are not normal maintenance. The local Nissan Dealer advises that they have a good reputation for paying direct to the dealership for covered repairs.

I can purchase an additional six years of coverge with a mileage limit of 85,000 miles. I will probably never hit he mileage limit. If the car is sold or the coverage cancelled, there is a pro-rata return of premium or the coverage can be transferred to a new buyer of the vehicle. The cost is
$ 2,400.00 for the coverage term which averages to about $ 400.00 a year. There is no deductible.

What experience do owners have with repairs after 7 years of ownership with low miles but extreme temperatures during extended storage periods?

I would appreciate member advise regarding the wisdom of purchasing extended service coverage?
