Default Accelerating delayed/jerky

So the last week, I have noticed my accelerating being a little delayed when the car is cold. So basically when I first drive the car when the engine is still cold, I will go to accelerate and it doesn't "catch" right away.

I also notice that when I am driving, and I go to accelerate, I see the rpm's gong up but the car taking like a second to catch, so instead of having smooth acceleration it delays for a brief second then catches and jerks the car into motion. This is the best way I can describe this. It is not happening all the time, but I am definitely feeling it.. Any ideas as to what this could be?

Sounds like a clutch slipping.

It can still very well be a transmission problem.
