Default Remote won't work

My friends 2008 z won't lock when using the remote also the alarm won't go off any ideas

If your friend has another remote try and see if it will lock the car, if not the remote keyless entry receiver may be dead.

It doesn't work it can unlock but not lock

It’s probably the battery. The FOB is set to do the “safe” function when it’s close to “death.” That would be the unlock function.

Also, there's a video on YouTube on how to reprogram the remote. Super easy.

Changing the battery didnt help

both doors lock properly when using the lock button on the driver door?
