Default Clutch Problem!?

*I've read several forums about similar issues... but this one is different.

On my way to class today, while decelerating, I went to push the clutch in to shift into second gear for a turn. Then to my surprise, the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor... Now I've seen people share this common issue, but the problem with mine is that the clutch pedal itself can be pulled out, but mechanically the clutch is still engaged. Luckily its stuck in neutral, but I am unable to get into any gear, and it doesn't even grind with an attempt.

Could this mean my throwout bearing went bad??

Same thing happened to me in my B13 recently. Turned out the clutch blew.

It os just weird that it happened on deceleration. Did it start to catch then went back down? Did it make any noise?

It made (and makes) no noise, no smell of burnt clutch either. Well I couldn't get it into gear when it happened so it couldn't catch... pretty weird because it hasn't shown signs of slipping at all or acting up..

I have a history of blowing clutches, (I'm DK, drivetrain killer) and each time the clutch never slipped, it just gave out on me all at once.

I think you got yourself a blown clutch. I would think a throwout bearing would slowly go so if this came out of nowhere I believe it would be the clutch. Can't complain about 112k miles on a stock clutch on a sports car. That is more then you can ask for.

Thats a very true point. What are the possibilities of it just being the slave cylinder?

Check your fluid. If you are at the correct level then I doubt it. Usually when it fails it leaks.

So got the tranny pulled and took a look at it. Pretty crazy, it turns out the clutch fork pivot ball broke... which in turn my slave cylinder extended past its normal limit, breaking that. Also, my throw out bearing and clutch fork is trashed. Pretty serious little chain of events. So im just gunna throw a new cutch/flywheel, and all that stuff in while i have it ripped apart.

**If anyone has their tranny pulled, I suggest purchasing an upgraded chromoly pivot ball to prevent this**

to me this sounds like a problem with the hydrolics so check your clutch fluid if its low top it off people will tell you to bleed it but the way I did it when I replaced my clutch a year ago is the pedal will go almost to the floor and you will feel the clutch just after you shift bring the pedal up with your foot and it will take care if itself and you will have full pedal within 100 miles bleeding the system is a real pain
