Default OC question

I've read the 100 FAQ's and looked over countless threads in regards to OC but I'm trying to get a date chart of affected engines...

I just purchased my '06 Base 350Z m/t 1 month ago and just started reading into the OC issues. However, my VIN tag says Date: 08/05. Would I still be affected?

I called Nissan to run my VIN but haven't gotten a call back yet. I haven't had the car long enough to do a oil change. Any POSITIVE feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

A quick search would of found you this thread.

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...iscussion.html

Then a quick read would have led you to the conclusion. Yes your engine is affected.

btw people don't go by the year the car was actually made, that's kinda irrelevant. Look at the year it is sold as.

Don't wait until time to change the oil.............check your oil level every week until you are certain you don't have the consumption problem.

Yeah man, I'll definitely keep an eye on my oil. Nissan made a very interesting dipstick as well... Smh.

It sucks for me as I bought my Z used w/o any warranty so I'm s.o.l. if I have any oc issues. It's a '06 and only 27k miles on it! I'm really happy w/ it so far.

Thanks for the advice

As long as the car runs well its no problem. You just might have to add oil sometimes.

Yeah, the previous owner never mentioned any oc issues. He told me to use synthetic oil because that what he put in the Z from day one.

It just sucks, one more thing having to remind yourself of.
