Default '03 350z rev limiter question.

So I bought my Z several weeks ago, found it at a car lot shortly after it was traded in. Its AT, touring with 130k. Had some modifications(bose delete, aftermarket HU, single exhaust) and front has a couple of dings so I was able to talk them down almost 3k under book value. At first I was but the more I get to know it the more Im

So for the first month I babied it while I fixed the front bumper fascia, wheel well splash guards, head lights, hatch struts, door handle, changed oil and tranny fluid... off top of my head, but it ran great, no problems. So the other day, I was at a 4 way stop out in middle of no where and I stomped it. Well I wasnt expecting the amount of wheel spin(Falken ziex 912 about 60%) and it hit the rev limiter, but at 7000 rpm. I have done it since then and noticed that the optimal time to shift is around 6500, or right before the redline, there is a slight delay that allows the engine to hit 6900 rpm's when it actually shifts, right before the rev limiter.

Everything I have read about the stock vq35de is, it is rev limited at 6600 rpm's?

Yea thats what I have read and one reason for wanting a 350z, durability under abuse lol. I have owned a 300z, maxima and I30T with the vq30 and its a great motor too. I guess what I was wondering is can a stock vq35de rev to 7k before hitting the limiter, or would something have to be done to the ECU?
