need to do a roadworthy
G'day everyone.
I recently bought my 2003 track Z from NSW and drove it down to Melbourne, as it stands I have to get a roadworthy to register the car here in vic. The mechanic checked the car and said it needs tyres and a lower control arm bushing, the problem is the car set me back financially and the aftermarket wheels on the car need treds worth $300 plus each (rear: 275/35R18 Front:245/35ZR19). I tried contacting wreckers to get rims that would fit over the brembo's but it was no use. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this on a budget?
Thanks a lot.

You need to shop around better for tires. I buy Hankook Ventus V12's, and other higher end street tires always for around ~$800 for all 4 tires. 245/35/19, 275/35/19. Search the internet, avoid tire rack, usually overly expensive there. I've used cheaptiresonline before.
If you want to save money, you can get shitty tires for around $500. Not recommended, but as long as you're not racing, tracking your car, or driving very aggressively - it'll do in a pinch.
I'm talking about prices including shipping too. Just saw you're in Australia... not sure about shipping costs there, but onlinetires.com is cheap.
