I have the hatch rattle too. I haven't inspected it yet, but it is starting to drive me crazy. I was thinking it has something to do with the hatch latch. When I press the remote button or the button over the license plate to open the hatch, the hatch doesn't fully disengage. It just pops up a little, but you still can't pull it up. I have to simultaneously pull up on the hatch as I am pushing the button, and then the hatch shocks (or whatever they are called) do not raise the hatch at all. I have to push it up. It does stay up though. Is this all normal? Or, should the hatch come completely unlatched when the button is pushed. It seems like mine did earlier but I can't really remember now.

The hatch should come completely unlatched when you hit your trunk button. I found my rattle. It is in the actual hatch...located in plastic that houses the latch. I need to take it off and isolate what is causing the sound, but at least now it is narrowed down to a 7 square inch area.

I'm pretty sure it's a different Nissan that makes the thermos.

At least I think so.

Just checked. Those coffee holders are made by Thermos, of which Thermos Nissan is a part.

Like I said, I don't think making cars has anything to do with holding coffee.

Now, back to the topic at hand.

Explains why my coffee holder doesn't fall apart after 3 uses.
Seriously, I checked my tires today after the TSB for the swap...and they look horrible. My steering wheel still isn't straight. It has been in there twice for this. The car seems to be aligned, but the steering wheel is off center. If you center the steering wheel, the car will drift to the right. Any quick solutions for this. I now have 6100 on my car. To me, this is unacceptable.

Do any Zs NOT get the noise/feathering? Have mine in for 15k oil change and the dealer said there was nothing they could do and suggested calling NNA. If everyone has the problem, is there a class action being planned? Seems like there should be. By the way, what does TSB stand for?

Larry,

There are several people who own 2003 Zs and don't have feathering. I don't think it has been isolated to a specific build date yet though. Call NNA and file a complaint. It is the right thing to do. I am not sure about the class action, but if something isn't done by the end of February, then I am going to pursue legal action.

A TSB is a repair notification which is usually issued by a manufacturer to repair defects which generally do not pose a threat to safety. This is different from a recall because the consumer is not notified of TSBs.

This just started happening to me. I thought maybe the window was down or something. Is this normal, or does this mean that there are transmission problems? I have almost 1k on the car now.
