Buzzing noise on startup (goes away after car is warm)
Hey All,
I just picked up my first Z (04 base model with 55k miles) . Everything seems great except for a very loud and annoying/embarrassing buzzing sound that I get on a cold start.
It happens for a couple seconds while idling and then is more pronounced when I rev up (while in gear or in neutral). Its most prominent right when I hit the gas and then also as the engine reaches approx 3K RPM. After about 5 minutes the sound is completely gone....
The sounds is coming from the area of the cat converter... sounds like metal on metal.
I've been trying to search the forums for a related thread but I haven't found anything that fits the same exact description as mine.
As much as I love my Z sounding like a civic I'd love to hear the purr of the V-6 so any help would be appreciated greatly!

I've attached a video
EDIT: the car is completely stock, seems that others have this problem after installing test pipes but that's not the case here

I still am not having any luck... I'm sure its out there but none of the threads in maintenance and repair with those keywords were helpful. Anywhere else this might be located ?
