Car Shutoff After Driving Hard
I was on my way back from work, and I'm kind of driving fast, switching lanes quite a bit, and I saw a red light. As I was proceeding to stop my car just shut of? I was still rolling around 30 mph light turns back on and i hit the clutch and starts right up?
What is that mean exactly? Is this common what so over?
Also when I leave my car idling as far as I'm concerned its supposed to idel at 1- 1 1/2 rpm it idels at like 1/2 very weird.
If you guys know anything let me know.
Thanks!

Solution; buy a bicycle and ride the bus to work.

You might have a clogged up air filter. You might have an after market mod to the intake causing the air/fuel ratio to be off. If you take it to Nissan, they can hook up their computer to the Z & relearn the air fuel ratio.
The dealership I go to did it when I installed an intake plenum & K&N air filter. It didn't shut off, but it tried to die often until they updated the car.

Coherence is a lost art.....as is spelling apparently
idel = idle
light turns back on = changes to green???
my car shut off? - well did it or didn't it? Why the ? mark?
Anyway, 500 is a pretty low idle - mine is always around 700 with intake/exhaust mods. Never had it shut down on me, although have heard of that with the JWT as mentioned.

My car used to shut off all the time when idling or driving, then it would take a while to start back up again. It threw a code though, come to find out my camshaft sensor bank 2 went bad. Had to replace it. Couple months later, same thing happened again, it was the other camshaft sensor. So if you're throwing a code, check it out
