Clutch help...pls
So last Friday I ordered an Exedy OEM replacement clutch for my 2006 Nissan 350z. When it arrived all looked well. Alll the parts were there I thought to myself this should be rather painless. Well today I dropped my transmission (was surprisingly easy!) unbolted the pressure plate and set it next to the new one. Right away I knew something was wrong. The two pressure plates looked nothing alike. The one I pulled out was slightly smaller as was the clutch disk also the "fins" were different. My first thought was they sent me the wrong clutch kit but further investigation leads me to believe that it is the correct clutch kit. What I'm starting to think the issue is, is that I have a duel mass flywheel and as such requires a different pressure plate and sized clutch disk. Everything about the 2 pressure plats is virtually the same. when set on top of each other all the bolt holes line up but when I try to set it to the flywheel the alignment pins are off ever so slightly. The big difference is the contact surface on the Exedy pressure plate is just a bit bigger. I'm curious can I use the pressure plate and clutch disk they sent me or is it in fact the wrong one? The PN on the box and paper work I received is "NSK1000" When googled it is in fact for an 03'-06' Nissan 350z and the pictures that as with that PN matches what I received. Oh also the pressure plate that I removed was, from the looks of it, the OEM Nissan pressure plate. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I apologize in advance if this has been covered I'm just freaking out a bit..
The fact it is a dual mass flywheel has no bearing on the subject. Pressure plates fit the same on stock or aftermarket and the size of the clutch and plate do NOT change
The pressure plate fits on in one configuration. You just have to line it up right.
If it is a pressure plate for any 350z it will work. I have run a DE pressure plate on my vq35hr motor on both a stock dual mass flywheel and on an ACT prolite.

I'm guessing after three weeks he got it installed, but you never know...
I just installed the same kit about 6 months ago. The pressure plate only goes on in one direction. the holes are not evenly spaced...
