Unhappy 120A Fusible Link Burning on 2 to 3 Shift

I have had the 120 amp fusible link at the battery burn out three times in the last 2 months, twice under identical conditions:

The first time I was swapping my transmission and when I was finished, the link was popped. I think I accidentally grounded the starter hot wire during the install (battery was still connected). It was not burned out at the start of the trans swap.

The second and third times were both this week. I would floor it in second gear, gain RPM’s up to about 6000, and the car would die completely on the 2-to-3 shift. Because of my entire dash going dark, I suspected the fusible link had popped, and when I looked it had. No other fuses in the fusible link were popped. Last night I removed my battery-to-starter lead, stripped all the looming off, and thoroughly examined it. I found no problems.

My question is this: What systems draw power from the 120 amp fusible link? What could be causing this issue?

The car drove fine and everything worked previous to the 2nd gear pull. I have not tried making a pull in another gear, but short bursts of full throttle don’t cause any problems. I’ve looked at the wiring diagrams in the Haynes Manual for the Z, but they indicate that the 120 amp fuse is attached to a 100 amp fuse immediately after. If this is the case, why isn’t the 100 amp fuse popping before the 120 amp? Thanks for reading.

I found my problem! My aftermarket stereo setup is connected to the battery at the inboard terminal on the fusible link holder. There is nothing attached there stock. I have an intermittent short in my stereo wiring and it's killing my fusible link repeatedly. The installer added a 150 amp circuit breaker on the huge 0 gauge wire for the amplifiers, but they should have selected a breaker with a threshold below the 120 amps of the fusible link. I'll be making the switch soon (so I can drive my car to work again) and then hunting the short later on to properly repair it. If you're reading this and you have a similar problem, PM me and I'll explain what I did and how to diagnose the problem.
