Default 05 Having troubles starting

Hello all,

Recently my car has been having troubles starting. When I turn the key, the cranking sounds normal like how it usually does. But time to time it would take 5-7 turns before my car will start. This dosent only happen in the cold or on first start up, it happens much more ofter after ive driven a bit, and restart it.

I have changed the battery and the problem has not resolved. I thought it would be my alternator but my personal mechanic said that the 350z is digital based and the light for the alt dosent show it to be flawed. It can't be the heat cause I also recently got my temp changed since the old one failed. So now im starting to think it could be the spark plugs? any ideas?

Nope, the engine light hasnt been showing. While driving my car is fine, its after i turn it off and try to get it back going is when it shows its problem.

Clutch isn't engaged during start... Otherwise you would move forward when the starter engaged... SMH. I think you just need to go to the dealership, and I rarely recommend that.

Try this. From now on when you go to start the car, move the key as you normally would to the ON position, but leave it there for an extra two seconds, and then turn the key to start the car. This gives the fuel pump some extra time to prime the lines before you crank the car. If this helps, you may want to replace the fuel pump for a stronger unit.
