Default 350z 05 - Power failure at WOT

Hi everyone,

I have an 05 350z, it has 59,000 miles on it. I live outside the USA and so it does not get Nissan direct maintenance but it gets taken to a very good shop owned by a friend of mine plus I am handy with cars.

Recently I had some work done, basic maint. I had the clutch changed, had new seals on the clutch / new clutch cable, etc. I also had a new MAF installed (it was shot), had an new air filter installed and had the MAF connector fixed as it had a short in it.

All was great for a few weeks and now it is exhibiting a weird symptom:

When I accelerate all is fine, down to the very last 1/8" on the pedal, the second I goto full WOT it drops to 4,500 RPM's and just hangs. It doesn't lose more power, it just sits at 4,500 RPM and stays there. If I let up a bit, it will begin to accelerate perfectly, with full force it has always had, only when the pedal is 100% to the floor it will drop to 4,500 RPM's exactly and just sit.

I can repeat it in all gears and also in Neutral. Which to means means it's probably not clutch related.

The only code it is throwing is the O2 sensor and thats because I run test pipes. Nothing else. No other symptoms, no rough idle in general, if gas gets low it will idle a bit rough until I put about a quarter tank or more but I don't think thats too abnormal.

Does anybody have any suggestions what it might be before I take the 350 to the shop?

I reset the ECU just now, confirmed it as CEL is off for the moment. I will drive around a day or two and see what happens.
