Journey to get spark
Hey everyone. I am trying to get to the bottom of my starting problem. I wanted to make this thread just in case anyone needs to go through the headache that i'm dealing with right now. I would also like to chat with forum members who don't guess answers. Here's the deal:
Motor:
2004.5 VQ35DE
2004.5 VQ35DE ECU
OBD2 CODES:
P2127 - Accelerator pedal position sensor 2 circuit low input
P2138 - Rationally incorrect voltage is sent to ECM compared with the signals from APP sensor 1 and APP sensor 2.
OBD2 Possible Causes:
P2127 - Harness or Connectors, Accelerator pedal position senor, Electric throttle control actuator
P2138 - Harness or Connectors, Accelerator pedal position senor, Electric throttle control actuator
Actual Problem:
I am not getting spark signal from ECM.
Question:
Would these codes keep the ECU from sending spark? According to the FSM, the car should still start, run, and the only thing affected will be acceleration. I am also getting power to the coilpacks and injectors.
Today, I will be testing the Injectors with a noid light to see if they are firing. I am getting fuel from the pump. I will be replacing the crank position sensor and both cam sensors just to be safe. I will also be troubleshooting the two OBD2 codes.
Does anyone have any insight or input on what could be happening?
