Thermostat testing

Default Thermostat testing

Having overheating issues and have done the air bleeding procedure a couple times so decide to check the thermostat by placing it in boiling water and it opened but only a little over a 1/4". Is this normal or do I need a new thermostat? Thanks

+1 on replacing the thermostat. It's an inexpensive part.
