Exclamation Creaking Annoying Noise!!

Hello everybody For the past month I have been hearing a creaking noise from the rear suspension area. I have a feeling its coming from the strut tower area. I know when I sit down, it makes the creaking noise and when I go over bumps, driveways or even turning at times. It seems like its getting worse. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am also taking the car to Billings Nissan to see if they could find the issue. I will post back here to let you guys know what they found.

I had the exact same problem with mine last year!! It was my sway bar end links, they showed no signs of wear or play, I even greased them but had no success! Replaced them and all was good after that!

Thank you. Having that issue but it's just starting. Nipping it in the bud.

I can't remember my user name on that forum anymore, which is fine by me, I absolutely hated some of those people!

Oh well thank you. I will be sure be sure to replace those end links. I greatly appreciated it. By the way I took my Z to Billings Nissan and they told me and I quote "We could not find any noise whatsoever in the strut tower area or surrounding areas. After a discussion with three of our technicians, your axle needs to be cleaned up and repacked with grease and that should stop any noise if any." I don't think they even drove the car around to see exactly what kind of noise it is or where its coming from. Thanks for the info though. I will replace the end links and my Z will finally stop creaking

Someone posted a decent video on YouTube a couple years ago re: the endlink issue and repair. Linked below:

That's the same noise that's coming from my Z too!! Thanks for posting the video zakmartin Its amazing how a lot of Z owners have the same problem as well and there's no recall for it either which is kind of strange. I thought there would be since it is a common problem and it is embarrassing pulling up in my car and all you here is squueeekk....loud and annoying.

They're just little ball joints that actually will dry out, as opposed to wearing out. Obviously if the are dry long enough they will wear out too. I pierced the boots on mine, and every year they get a small shot of lube, problem temporarily solved.

As soon as I get the time I will go under my car and check it out. Maybe I could get them lubed as a temporary fix as for now and fix it later on when I have the time and the money Thanks myfirstzcar.

I used a little bit of light duty penetrating chain lube from a spray can with a straw.

No manufacturer would have a recall on a common consumable parts.... its like saying everyone's brake pads wore out so they should have a recall! they wear out...plain and simple...

they are super cheap....it will take you longer to try to temporarily fix then to actually replace them! I bought a set from autozone for $17 dollars each because they were the only that had them in stock at the time!!!! Dont be cheap....YOU OWN A Z!!!!!! Geeze lol
