My 03 Z just got a brand new clutch put in. Got it back from the shop and it wont go into 1st or 2nd . Taking it back on monday but was hoping someone here had some info on what could be the problem.

 

Might be the alignment of the shift lever. Find one of the threads here about installing a short shifter, which will probably have some pics which should help. You'll just need a few simple tools, i.e. a 10mm socket, if I recall.

 

I believe the only alignment you can do is to 5th and 6th gear. I've re-aligned the shift plate for 5-6th and was very easy, don't believe you can align 1-2nd though.

 

I thought about that but I figured I would get some feedback from some more experienced z owners before I do anything myself.
