Default window grease fix question

in a week i have an oppointment setup with the local dealer to get the window grease fix on my car. Only problem is i have aftermarket speakers (should of had the fix before uprading i know

Anyways does anyone know exactly what they have to move to do this fix? Do they have to remove the speakers? or they just going to remove that unpainted middle part of the door?

Any info on this would be nice

I think they remove the whole inside door panel to change out the window guides that were over greased. They did a good job on mine, but i still had some grease on the window sill and so i had to windex the rubber window sill so i wouldn't get any streaks. So what's up with your speakers that they can't take the door panel off?? Did you get some huge door speakers or something that mount on the door panel itself?? If it's in the door like a stock speaker they shouldn't have any problems with it.

Don't get the fix! I did, and now I have a door rattle instead of the grease strip. I would much rather have the grease! I bet the grease would have disappeared over time if I had waited. Yes, I have tried to get the dealer to fix the rattle that was created by the fix (three times), and it will not go away.

Had the TSB done twice. 50% fix the first time. 95% fix the second. Then I tinted the windows. I am 99.9% happy with outcome.

i too have the window grease. more so on the passenger side now versus the drivers. the obvious reason being that here in the winter I only roll my driver side down for wendy's, atm, etc. the passenger side still has grease when rolled down. this supports the theory that it has to wear away with time. i too researched the fix here on this forum to see what it entailed while my dealer was waiting for the parts to come in. what i read was time after time the dealer tsb ended up making things worse, noises etc. i suggest you go to the TSB section of this repairing forum and actually review what has to be done, its in yellow at the top of this forum. you will see that the tech has to virtually remove everything from the window apparatus including the window itself, crazy how involved it has to be. what you have to realize is that 90% of the time the guys working on these are almost as inexperienced as you or i and are simply following instructions "a-c". the 350z is way too new, i know my dealer never has more than one at a time on the lot not to mention how few have come through for a fix, and i doubt these techs have ever gone to some kind of nissan sponsored class to learn the Z. so thats my take. by the time the average tech gets the swing of the Z, your grease will probably be gone by then. hope this helps.

Can I have my windows tinted without having the grease fix? Guess what I'm wondering is if the grease can somehow damage the tint. I'd rather not have the dealership tearing my door apart over a grease streak with all the possible horrible consequences. Any help would be great, thanks.
