Power Steering Pressure Switch Problems
I got into an accident and my bumper got ripped off and it yanked on my cooler and it basically broke my power steering pressure switch right where it screws in. I was wondering where a DIY guide was? I've been sitting in the search and find posts of people having the problem but no guides so far. I'm trying my hardest not to remove the pump..but it feels like avoiding taking it off is going to be unavoidable so far.
i just replaced mine over the weekend takes about an hour or so.
Items needed
.5" drive ratchet
10" extension
and a size 28mm socket
wrench
power steering fluid
the only way to remove the pressure switch is from under the car
once you get the sensor loose put something down to catch all the fluid you are going to loose
then lightly loosen the sensor with your hand from on top of the car
when you put the new sensor on be careful not to over torque it.
it can and will break easily.
use the the wrench to tighten the sensor.
then replace all the fluid you lost and bleed the system.
