Traction control help
Okay guys im sure this question has been answered before but i must be searching in the wrong place.. I have an 06 350z Enthusiast 6mt.. Now just to verify i typed my vin in at work (oreillys) and it is an enthusiast.. Well iv had my car for 2 years and never relly cared till now that i dont have a tc button or vdc both slots for buttons have nothing but a cover. Well i did a little lookn around and removed my abs fuse.. Well sure enough i can sit there and do a sit still burn out but my abs and brake lights came on and my speedo is not working, also my steering wheel felt stiff as if it was manual steering.. So my question is, is there someway to take of traction control with out loosing my speedometer and have all these other little issues
If you have no TCS button or VDC button to the lower left of your steering wheel, then you have a base model. VIN doesn't state which model you have. Post some pics of your car.. Exterior/Interior.. We can verify what model you have for you.

I'm pretty sure if you don't have a TCS button then you have a Base model. The VIN number does not determine models anyhow so I don't know how O'Reilly's computer would know that.
People have successfully done what you are attempting. It’s been years since I read the threads describing this. I’m sure the threads are still there; finding them will probably require you to spend some time searching.
If you don't have any buttons on the steering wheel you have a base model so that means you have no traction control or VDC or a limited slip differential or HID lights. Don't know where you got that thing about the vin number saying you have an enthusiast but that thing lied. If you have cruise control, HID lights (the stock ones), LSD (not the drug dude), or 18 inch rims you might have a touring or enthusiast and if you have Brembos you have the track. Keep in mind that the earlier enthusiast like mine shared the same 17 inch wheels as the base model though. But post pics of your car and we can tell you which one you have.

You can disable TCS/VDC by unplugging the large light gray plug by your abs block. If you open your fluids reservoir cover, then remove the plastic trim around it, you can access the plug. The plug is way towards the outboard side of that enclosure. I wired an industrial rocker switch into mine so I don't have to plug it and unplug it. Here's a pic:

Unplugging the gray plug (or flipping the switch) will light up 3 or 4 lights on your dash and completely disable any yaw control or wheelspin control. I frequently drift my car and have no issues this way. To go back to normal, simply reconnect the plug and on the next startup everything will be normal. I still have brake lights this way, all gauges remain operational, and I can left foot brake/do burnouts without the ECU cutting throttle. My car has a DE; HR cars may be different. I hope this answers your question.

If you don't have cruise control you have a base model Z. Someone can easily add HIDs or an LSD but cruise control not so much. Some people would probably overlook that or not even care.
