Default Code p0327! Newb here!!!

Hey guys,
New here. Just picked up my first 350z today. I love the car except i feel like its lagging or something. Im not getting any cels but when I hooked up my OBD-2 to it code P0327. Knock sensor. Why didnt it throw a CEL? Would that make the car run bad?? I also noticed its gas consumption is kinda high. All I know is my eclipse gst pulled harder and its only 210 hp. Also lighter though...Any input is appreciated.

Thanks guys!

You need to get a new knock sensor and a new sub-harness. I couldn't be 100% sure which part was actually bad, but I wasn't going to chance it. It's also recommended that you change the metal lower intake gaskets as they are considered a one time use part.
Mine was very slow under 4000 rpm and had a bad hesitation in the low rpm range....all without a CEL.

Go to z1motorsports website and order yourself a new knock sensor and the sub harness. It's like 180 bucks for both of them.
I just did mine today, no more CEL, and no more hesitation or lag!
Did the install myself too, wasn't too hard.

Just make sure to get new gaskets.
Good time to install a Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer as well!

You gotta pull the strut bar, upper plenum, and lower intake along with the fuel line. The hardest part is getting the old harness unplugged.
Make sure you use the proper torque on EVERYTHING!

its funny. I called 4 stealerships. 1 quoted $400 1 quoted $600 1 quoted $900 and the last couldnt give me a quote because "they have to run a diagnostics to find out why the knock sensor has gone out in the first place. The also said the harness is $1200 lol

Just order the stuff from Z1 and either diy or find a decent mechanic friend to help.

Can you link me to the correct gaskets that I'll be needing please? Does z1 sell those also?

Just order a full gasket kit. You'll need a new gasket for the upper plenum, intake runners, and the lower intake manifold one. I got the set of 4 from O'rileys auto parts for 40 bucks.

I got the knock sensor and sub harness from Z1 motorsports.

I recommend doing your spark plugs while you have it all open as well, it makes it easier.

When I did mine, I went ahead and got new o rings for my injectors.

Install is easy and straight forward, just need to take off your strut bar, intake, upper plenum, lower plenum, fuel rail, and everything until you see the knock sensor. I have a picture of it's location. I'll put it up for you when I'm home.
