Default Weak start?

Hey guys, so we've been having starter problems for about a year now, which is about how long we've owned the Z. Sometimes it wouldn't start at all and we would have to try continuously. We got a brand new starter about two months ago and 98%, the car starts with no problem now that we've got a new starter. However, over the past few weeks, the starter has been acting up again and we don't believe it's the new starter's problem. Also, when the car does start up, it's very weak and takes more "clicks" than normal and the engine revs really loudly when it finally starts. Anyone know what could be the cause of this starter issue?

Thanks so much guys. Sorry it's so much to read!

Have you checked to see if the earth leads are properly connected on the starter and also that the earth lead on the battery is connected and is not suffering from corrosion in any way. The terminals are quite small and it doesn't take much in the way of corrosion or a slightly loose lead to cause problems. The reason I mention this is because you said that when you got a new starter everything seemed OK and now a few months later its posing problems.
