Default Steering Rack grease leak?

I noticed this under my car today.......some weird seal area is leaking for some reason i dont understand. Its on the driver side of the steering rack and the picture is looking forward from the rear of the vehicle.

Any advice?

there is another thread on this. That is the rack adjuster. Don't take it apart! It is sealed with some specific gray RTV or thread sealer at the factory. It probably has dried out and is now leaking. My leak was so slight that it was actually a little more gray colored than oil color which leads me to believe it was breaking down due to age.
Try this first - clean it up the best you can with a rag. Maybe a little degreaser like Simple Green if it won't come clean with the rag to give you a clean surface for your sealant. Then get some ShoeGoo from Walmart or somewhere - it is of all places in the shoe department in a tube. It's like a silicone sealant but I have found from my R/C racing days that it tends to stick to many more surfaces and stays on most things better than other RTV, etc that I've tried. Mine has held up for over a year and no more leaks either. Just glob it on with your finger and go all the way around right around the outside edge where the threads are. Wouldn't hurt to just cover the whole plug and all. Shoe Goo comes off easy when you finally want it to. It just peels off clean.
Can use any other sealant you have lying around too and see if it holds. You are not worried about temperature or pressure, just if it will "stick" to the oily case and hold up to rain splashing, etc. Don't do anything drastic, just clean it and reseal it WITHOUT taking it apart and see what happens. Check the fluid level on your power steering reservoir too then monitor for awhile till you see it is holding up. Check on it when you change your oil and you should be good.
If you don't do any research on the rack trust me that you don't want to take this nut out. You will screw up the adjustment on your rack and turn a small leak into a disaster. Don't move that nut at all! Don't think you are going to tighten it and make it stop leaking. Don't think that you have to take it apart to properly seal the threads again. Just clean it and put something over it. It may look a little rough but it will work.

Where did you come up with that screen name? Are you into rc cars by chance?

Looks good! If the oil ends up attacking the RTV and it falls back off or leaks through don't give up on the same idea. Give the Shoe Goo a try also before you do anything else major.

I just thought it was funny because that's my screen name on another site.
Congrats on the fix, that should do it.

Default Forget the Shoe Goo!

Mine is seeping again. I tried Shoe Goo because I have used it in so many other situations and it worked great. Sticks good to things, comes back off, held up to SOME chemicals in the past.
Well it must not be good with oils. My steering fluid has saturated the Goo and it has mixed into a gel that will start dripping soon.
I was worried initially that RTV would not stick well to an oily surface but it looks like you had success with it.
I have Black RTV in my toolbox to try next.
Please check back with any updates to your repair. I'll try to as well. Something will hold up and will be better than draining the rack, learning how to adjust a rack, buying the Nissan sealant, and putting the nut back in properly. You can't screw up anything by putting a bunch of sealant over it.
